Releases: Taking and Running Away EP (2008)
Bio: Hailing from Los Angeles' popular Silverlake scene, Tigers Can Bite You have been building a loyal following since 2006, sharing the stage with the likes of Silversun Pickups, Division Day and the Watson Twins. Lead by former Fiver frontman Dave Woody - whose voice resembles Death Cab's Ben Gibbard and Grandaddy's Jason Lyttle (both of whom he has recorded with) - TCBY set themselves apart by fusing indie pop with gentle, M83-like electronics. The band will release the Taking and Running Away EP in September, with their debut full-length to follow in October.

The Passionistas

Releases: God's Boat (2007)
Bio: With a relentless dedication to defying convention, the Passionistas play with an almost unmatchable confidence.   Their live set can easily veer away from straightforward rock ‘n roll and into the avant garde. This appealed to Sub Pop recording artist Kelley Stoltz, who caught the band at San Francisco’s Make-Out Room in late 2004, and produced the band's lo-fi debut two years later. The album's unique sound caught the ear of New and Used founder, Will Benham, who put out God's Boat as his label's first release. Benham also documented the band for a six-part video series tracing their early days of drummer-less shows and concluding with their sold-out CD release party at Cafe du Nord.
