Shiloe Signs to New and Used Records

08/26/08 - New and Used Records is proud to announce the signing of Shiloe, a three-piece from Los Angeles, CA. Lead by singer/guitarist Ken Ramos and bassist Melissa Pleckham, Shiloe combine the driving force of Sleater Kinney with the atmosphere of Interpol, tied together with the roughness of Sonic Youth. Behind two EPs, Shiloe have caused a stir among some of the most influential tastemakers in music, including KROQ, Indie 103.1, "Buzz Bands" in the LA Times, KXLU, WOXY, Filter, Spin and CMJ. The band's new EP, ... And Now the Screaming Starts will be released on October 14.

Kid Mud Signs to New and Used Records

08/25/08 - New and Used Records is proud to announce the signing of Kid Mud from San Francisco. Kid Mud spends much of his time recording to a Mac in a humble home studio. A self-taught musician, Duncan's songs vary in style with lush instrumentation, not to mention computer blips and beats, recalling the work of Badly Drawn Boy, Sparklehorse and Broken Social Scene. Prior to becoming Kid Mud, Sean Duncan played in a number of bands including Fiver, American Holidays, and Duncan Booth. Along the way he has shared bills with the likes of Calvin Johnson, Death Cab For Cutie, Earlimart, and Frank Black of the Pixies. His EP, Birds Will Move In, will be released on Ocober 7.

Tigers Can Bite You Prep EP

08/11/08 - Tigers Can Bite You's debut release from New and Used Records is getting ready to see the light of day. The Taking and Running Away EP was shipped off for mastering this week and will be hitting digital retailers late next month. The four song release features the title track, which is the first single from the band's forthcoming full length, as well as new mixes of "Hawks," "Estimates," and "Tigers Can Bite You" which all originally appeared on a demo CD released last year.
